Castle & Key Wheated Bourbon is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 49.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is distilled at Castle & Key in Frankfort, on the site of the restored Old Taylor Distillery.
White winter wheat takes the place of rye in the mash bill, which is 73% white corn, 10% wheat and 17% malted barley. The bourbon is aged for at least five years in new charred American oak and bottled non-chill filtered.
The nose is floral, with caramel, vanilla, rosewater and orange blossom. The palate is creamy and soft, with shortbread, honey, almond pastry and roasted cashews, and it finishes medium-long on vanilla cream, soft cinnamon and toasted oak.
