This is an 11 year old single malt from Tomintoul in Speyside, bottled by Chapter 7 in its Monologue range at 52.5% ABV. It was distilled in September 2010 and bottled in May 2022 from a single Amontillado cask, in natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The outturn is 351 bottles.
Amontillado is a sherry darker than fino and lighter than oloroso. The nose brings hazelnut cake, oranges and gunpowder, while the palate offers pecans, walnuts and glazed chestnuts. The finish is oily but sharp, with sweet spices and tobacco.
