This is a 12 year old Highland single malt from Blair Athol, a collaboration between Chapter 7 and TopWhiskies. It was distilled in February 2009 and bottled in January 2022 at 52.5% ABV, after maturing in a single bourbon hogshead. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle.
Blair Athol was built in 1798 in Pitlochry, and much of its malt goes into Bell's blended Scotch.
The nose offers fruit salad with oranges, honey, custard, barley water and nougat, with a hint of milky coffee and brioche. On the palate come orange juice, natural vanilla, raisins and maize bread. The finish is caramelised pear tart with ginger, cinnamon and bay leaves.
