Charbay Whiskey S (75cl, 49.5%)

Charbay Whiskey S is an American whiskey distilled from finished beer: Big Bear Black Stout, brewed by Bear Republic Brewery in Northern California. The S stands for stout. It comes in a 750ml bottle at 49.5% ABV. Marko Karakasevic double-distilled the beer in Charbay's Alambic Charentais pot still at Ukiah, California, then aged it for 50 months in French oak. It was distilled in February 2011 and bottled in November 2015, in a small batch of 686 cases. The nose offers chocolate, caramel, hazelnut and dark roast coffee. The palate is soft and creamy with chocolate-candy sweetness, and the finish is short, with black pepper and marzipan.
