Chardonnay Collio DOC - Branko

A white wine from Branko, made from Chardonnay in the Collio DOC area of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Hillside soils rich in sandstone and marl give it a mineral elegance. Ageing is mainly in steel, with a short passage in wood for added aromatic complexity without heaviness. It is pale straw yellow in colour. The nose shows golden apple, ripe pear, citrus and delicate floral notes, with a light hint of butter and vanilla. The palate is harmonious and velvety, with good acidity balancing the softness and a clean, persistent finish. It suits refined fish dishes, shellfish and fresh cheeses.
