Charles Goodnight High Rye Texas Bourbon 6 Year Old (75cl, 57.5%)

A high rye Texas bourbon, six years old and bottled at 57.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is named after Charles Goodnight, the nineteenth-century cattleman known as the Father of the Texas Panhandle, and is a tribute to the Texan roots of Bill Foley, his great-great nephew. The nose is aggressive and immersive. On the palate, raisin and maple come first, recalling fig liqueur and the syrup from a jar of cherries. That fruity sweetness lingers and keeps the toasted barrel char in the background for some time.
