Charles Goodnight Texas Straight Bourbon is a Texas bourbon bottled at 115 proof, or 57.5% ABV. It is named after the 19th-century frontiersman and cattleman, and is made from a mash bill dominated by corn, with smaller amounts of rye and malted barley.
It is aged in new charred American oak in the Texas climate, and bottled at full strength without dilution. It was named Best Whiskey at the London Spirits Competition.
On the nose there is vanilla custard, caramelised brown sugar and toasted oak, with hints of baking spice, honeyed peach and a touch of charcoal smoke.
