Charles Mackinlay's Old is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1960s, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
A well-known story surrounds the origin of the Mackinlay brand. Workers from the New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust, restoring Ernest Shackleton's hut in Antarctica, found three cases of Scotch whisky there. The cases were labelled as Rare Old Highland malt whisky, blended and bottled by Chas. Mackinlay & Co, from the docks of Leith.
