Charpentier Pinot Meunier Zero Dosage Champagne (75cl)

This is a zero dosage Champagne from Charpentier, made from Pinot Meunier. It is bottled in 75cl. In the glass it is a deep golden yellow, with an airy mousse of fine, creamy bubbles. The nose shows yellow-fleshed and stone fruits, typical of the grape variety. The palate is dense and evolved, echoing the nose, and the freshness of the zero dosage brings finesse and density together in an unusual, rather disconcerting way.
