Château Batailley 2003 Pauillac (1.5L)

A 2003 Pauillac from Château Batailley, classified as a 5. Cru Classé in 1855. The estate has 57 hectares of vines on sand, gravel and clay, with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Vinification includes long, cool fermentation, malolactic fermentation and 16 to 18 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, of which 55 to 60% are renewed each year. Pauillac wines are known for dark berry, liquorice, cedar, tobacco and vanilla notes.
