Château de Lacquy 2006 Armagnac 16 Year Old (70cl, 46.5%)

A 16-year-old Armagnac from Château de Lacquy, distilled in November 2006 and bottled at 46.5% in a 70cl bottle. The 2006 growing year began much colder than average, with abundant rain through to April, then stayed dry until August. That produced healthy grapes with thick skins and firm clusters. Stormy weather alternated with sunshine in late August, and the harvest started early, around 20 September. The palate is led by floral notes that are very fresh, almost minty. The finish is sweet with vanilla and has good length.
