A classic red Bordeaux from Graves, one of Bordeaux's historic wine areas, known for its gravelly and stony soils.
It is made from 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Merlot gives roundness and ripe fruit, Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure, and Cabernet Franc contributes freshness and finesse. In the glass it shows dark and red fruit notes such as blackcurrant, cherry and plum, with lightly spicy nuances, pleasant fullness, freshness and well-integrated tannins.
It suits beef, lamb, game, grilled dishes, stews and mature hard cheeses, and is best served at 16-18 °C, with 30 minutes in a decanter if drunk now.
