Chichibu Ichiro's Malt & Grain 111 Proof (70cl, 55.5%)

Ichiro's Malt & Grain 111 Proof is a world blended whisky from Chichibu, bottled at 55.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Blended by Chichibu founder Ichiro Akuto, it combines malt and grain whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, America and Canada with Chichibu's own Japanese single malt, and this edition includes peated malt. The whiskies were matured for between four and seventeen years, in ex-bourbon and ex-rye barrels among other cask types. It is a limited edition, bottled non-chill-filtered with no additives or colouring. Sweet cola, shortbread and tobacco lead the nose. The palate brings candied orange, dried pineapple, vanilla and butterscotch with pear and apple, over subtle peat smoke. The finish is long and warm, with tropical fruit and sea salt.
