Chichibu – Ichiro's Malt Le Centenaire Le Cask 3738 (70cl, 62%)

Chichibu Ichiro's Malt Le Centenaire Le Cask 3738 is a single malt from the Chichibu distillery in Saitama prefecture, Japan, founded by Ichiro Akuto. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2022 to mark one hundred years of Japanese whisky. The spirit matured for eight years in a second-fill Mizunara hogshead, cask number 3738. It is bottled at 62% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and the release is limited to 228 bottles. The nose is floral and fruity, with hints of sandalwood and spice. On the palate come layers of tropical fruit, caramelised oak and soft Mizunara spice. The finish is long and warming, with a touch of vanilla sweetness.
