The Paris Edition 2019 is a Japanese single malt from Chichibu, the distillery in Saitama prefecture founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto. It is 50.5% ABV and comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is a vatting of malts at least six years old, matured in a hogshead, partly of Mizunara oak, and six ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is intense and fruity, with ripe apple, pear, vanilla and delicate flowers, plus touches of honey and caramel. The palate is soft and velvety, with tropical fruit, vanilla and cinnamon. The finish is long and warm, spicy and woody, with a slight bitterness.
