Chicken Cock is a bourbon brand established in 1856 in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. It was a regular in Prohibition-era speakeasies, the Cotton Club among them, faded after the Second World War and has since returned. This bourbon is bottled at 90 proof (45%).
It is mahogany in colour. The nose balances oak with dried fruit, caramel and vanilla. The palate opens with soft oak tannin and toasted oak, then a slight bourbon heat, a creamy, almost buttery texture and sweet butterscotch. The finish is vanilla wafer.
