Chicken Cock Chanticleer Cognac Barrel Finish Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 56%)

Chicken Cock Chanticleer is a Kentucky straight bourbon (70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley) finished in French Cognac barrels and bottled at 56% in a 75cl bottle. It is the Second Edition of the brand's Annual Tin Release, limited to 32 barrels, and comes in a replica Prohibition-era apothecary bottle sealed in a commemorative tin. Chanticleer is the rooster, a symbol shared by France and America, and the release marks the French-American friendship behind Bourbon County and Paris, Kentucky. Master Distiller Gregg Snyder hand-selected the barrels. Tasting notes describe ripened peach, sweet cream and honey on the nose, tannic vanilla, cherry, plum, candied date and banana flambé on the palate, and a finish of caramelised sugar, melted butter and citrus zest.
