Chicken Cock Mizunara Japanese Oak Finish is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle at 52.5% ABV (105 proof). The mash bill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley, and the whisky is finished in first-use Japanese Mizunara oak casks.
This is the Fourth Edition of Chicken Cock's Annual Tin Release, drawn from just 10 barrels and sealed in a Prohibition-style tin inspired by the long-tailed Onagadori rooster.
The nose brings sandalwood, butterscotch, baking spice and leather. On the palate come graham cracker, cracked pepper and warm pastry, and the finish is bright with cinnamon, clove, cherry and soft oak tannin.
