A 100 proof (50%) American whiskey blend of 70% Kentucky straight rye whiskey and 30% bottled-in-bond apple brandy from Laird's. It is a collaboration between Chicken Cock Whiskey and Laird's & Company, made to mark America's 250th anniversary and bringing together 416 years of combined distilling heritage.
Both spirits were aged for a minimum of 4 years before blending, and the bottle is described as the first blend of Kentucky rye whiskey and apple brandy.
The nose has warm rye spice, baked apple, cinnamon bark and vanilla oak. On the palate come rye pepper, caramelised apple, brown sugar and toasted oak, followed by a medium to long finish of rye spice, apple warmth and oak tannins.
