Chicken Cock Rye Whiskey

Chicken Cock is an American rye whiskey from a brand established in 1856 in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. It became a staple of Prohibition-era speakeasies, the Cotton Club among them, before the brand faded after the Second World War. It has since returned. The colour is caramel with a dark orange hue. The nose is led by spice and pepper, with a hint of cinnamon, grassiness and sweet oak. The palate is spicy, with vanilla, butterscotch and pepper, a little dryness and slight citrus and oak, and a buttery mouthfeel. The finish is very long and slow, peppery with a hint of sweet honey.
