Chivas Extra is a blended Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, finished with a careful selection of first-fill oloroso sherry casks.
Those casks are credited with adding richness and intensity of flavour, and with giving the whisky its deep amber colour. The blend is described as the result of painstaking craft work.
