Chivas Regal XV is a 15-year-old blended Scotch whisky in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV. It is finished in casks that previously held Grande Champagne Cognac.
The blend uses malts from Longmorn, The Glenlivet, Allt-a-Bhainne, Miltonduff and Braes of Glenlivet, together with grain whisky from Strathclyde. It spends at least 15 years maturing in oak casks before the selective Cognac cask finish.
The nose shows honey-glazed apple, ripe peach, cinnamon and white pepper. The palate brings butterscotch, baked apple, brown sugar, toffee and chocolate ganache, with a little caraway. The finish is medium-long, with vanilla, ripe pear, malt and dried fruit.
