Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Scotch Whisky (75cl, 40%)

This is an 18 year old blended Scotch whisky from Chivas Regal, bottled at 40% ABV. Every whisky in the blend has been matured for at least 18 years. The blend draws on more than 20 single malts, including Strathisla, the brand's home Speyside malt, together with grain whiskies from across Scotland. It was created in 1997 by Colin Scott, then Master Blender, and the brand describes it as carrying 85 flavour notes. It has an intense, dark amber colour and won the Blended Scotch Whisky Trophy at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2014. The nose offers dried fruits, buttery toffee and dark chocolate. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, floral notes and a wisp of sweet smoke, followed by a very warm, long finish.
