Chivas Regal Extra 13 is a blended Scotch whisky aged for a minimum of thirteen years, with selective maturation in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
It belongs to the Extra 13 range, launched in March 2020. The thirteen refers to 13 King Street, Aberdeen, where the Chivas founders opened their original shop in 1801.
The nose is heather honey and pear dusted with cinnamon, with ripe pears in syrup and vanilla caramel. The palate is rich pear, honey and vanilla with caramel, faintly smoked malt, cinnamon, dry oak tannins and roasted nuts. The finish is toasty oak, with pear and honey lingering.
