Chivas Regal XV is a 15 year old blended Scotch whisky from Chivas Brothers, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It was launched in 2018, and the Roman numeral XV marks its fifteen years of maturation.
The blend is selectively finished in first-fill French oak casks that previously held Grande Champagne cognac, which give it a golden colour and a cognac-like richness.
Stewed red apples, orange marmalade, honey, cinnamon and juicy sultanas show on the nose. The palate is smooth and fruity, with poached pears, butterscotch and caramel toffees, and the finish is rounded with a touch of vanilla.
