This is Glen Grant 18 Year Old, bottled by the independent Chorlton Whisky at a natural cask strength of 54% ABV. It is Chorlton's first Glen Grant, drawn from a single refill barrel that gave 122 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose brings red apple juice, apricot, butter, resin and Juicy Fruit gum, with a thread of coal tar behind. On the palate an orange and peach arrival leads into cider, wax and pink peppercorns, with stone fruit building and an edge of smoke. The finish is clean, with apple rings, menthol and plenty of barley.
