Cinzano Rosso is a red vermouth made in Italy from a recipe that dates back to 1757, balancing sweetness and bitterness with a blend of herbs and spices. It is a vivid ruby red. The nose carries rosemary and sage, red orange, cinnamon and clove. On the palate the natural sweetness sits against a light bitterness, with the same herbs joined by a citrus freshness. The finish is persistent and slightly bitter. It works in classic cocktails such as the Negroni and the Manhattan, or simply over ice with a slice of orange.
