Citadelle Gin Rouge (70cl, 41.7%)

Citadelle Gin Rouge is a French gin distilled with plenty of berries and rhubarb, alongside Citadelle's usual botanicals of violet, almond and juniper. Nothing is added after distillation, so there is no sugar, colour, flavour or fruit, and the gin stays crystal clear. The nose shows juniper sharing the stage with raspberry, blackberry liqueur and a nostalgic note of fairground candy. The palate is creamy, with a natural sweetness and soft, well-integrated alcohol, and wild berries arrive in a smooth flow. It finishes dry, fresh and elegant. It works in a gin and tonic garnished with a thin piece of rhubarb.
