Clan Colla 11 Year Old is an Irish whiskey from Ahascragh, released as part of the Family Bond series. It is a blend of Irish malt and grain whiskeys, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV without chill filtration.
It was matured in bourbon casks and then given a double finish in Oloroso sherry casks and peated casks.
The nose combines vanilla and honey with dried fruits, nutty Oloroso notes and a gentle trace of peat smoke. The palate is full-bodied, with sweet malt, toffee and spice moving to dark chocolate, raisins and walnut, with light smoke behind. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, oak spice and a delicate peaty edge.
