Clematis Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Passito IGT (37.5cl, 13%)

A red passito wine from Cantina Zaccagnini, made from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes grown on clayey medium-textured soils in the Pescara area of Abruzzo. The grapes are dried on the vine, then hand-harvested, softly pressed and fermented with 20 days of maceration at controlled temperature. It matures in small 50-litre casks before bottling and can evolve in bottle for over 15 years. Deep red, with elegant, austere aromas of black fruit in spirit and liquorice, and a broad, harmonious, persistent palate. Serve at 14-16°C with chocolate and cocoa desserts.
