Clonakilty – 15 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Irish Whiskey (48%)

This is a single cask Irish single malt from Clonakilty, distilled in 2007 and bottled in October 2023 at 48% abv. It matured in an ex-bourbon cask and was then finished in ex-sherry casks. The cask, number 16668, gave 780 bottles. The master distiller, Oishin, had first looked at an 18-year-old cask, but liked this 15-year-old so much that he chose to bottle it instead. The aroma is stewed red fruit with caramel and nougat. Chocolate, dried apricot and vanilla come through in the finish.
