Clonakilty – Double Oak Finish Irish Whiskey

Clonakilty Double Oak Finish is an Irish whiskey from a single batch, and the lead bottling in the distillery's Cask Finish Series. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks before a finish in two kinds of oak. The first is virgin American oak. The second is a shaved, toasted and re-charred ex-red wine European oak cask, known as NEOC, for New Era of Cask. These casks come from the Bordeaux region of France and are shaved by hand by traditional coopers, then re-toasted to each distiller's specification. This is described as the first Irish whiskey finished in a NEOC cask.
