Clonakilty – Port Cask (43.6%)

This Irish whiskey comes from Clonakilty's Cask series. It blends triple distilled malt and grain whiskeys of 7 to 10 years old, bottled at 43.6%. The whiskey was finished in port casks brought from the Douro Valley, which give a spicy sweetness and a rich colour. The nose is fresh, with ripe peaches and piquant notes. The palate is creamy and very fruity, with peach and zest, delicate spices, a little chilli and cardamom. The finish is of good length.
