Special Reserve 5 Year Old is a straight bourbon from Clyde May's of Alabama, aged for five years in charred American oak barrels. It is bottled at 55% ABV in a 75cl bottle and is non-chill-filtered.
It is finished Alabama style with a hint of apple, and is drawn from higher-proof stock developed with whiskey veteran Ron Call, following original Clyde May recipes. Clyde May's is the official State Spirit of Alabama.
Expect caramelised orchard fruit and citrus, with clove and wood spice through the middle, and a full, long finish.
