Clyde May's Special Reserve is an American whiskey made from stock aged for 6 to 7 years in 53 gallon char #4 barrels. A natural essence of apple is added during bottling, which gives the whiskey its apple character.
It is a high-proof expression. The nose brings candied apple, toffee, butterscotch, nutmeg and cinnamon, and the colour is a deep burgundy.
On the palate it is full-bodied, with rich, ripe flavours and a seamless feel. The finish carries baking spice, clove and toasted oak.
