Clyde May's Straight Bourbon Whiskey comes from Alabama, where Clyde May began making moonshine in 1946. In 2001 the brand was named the Official State Spirit of Alabama.
It is distilled in a copper pot still and matured for a minimum of four and a half years in new 53-gallon American oak barrels. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The aroma is soft and sweet, with brown sugar, baked apricot, strawberry and nutmeg. The palate is soft and complex, with oak spice, fruit and oiled leather.
