Clyde May's Straight Rye is an American rye whiskey from Alabama, distilled in a copper pot still and aged for a minimum of 4 years in new American oak. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and is non-chill-filtered.
The brand follows Clyde May, born in 1922, who began distilling in 1946. In 2001 Clyde May's was named the Official State Spirit of Alabama.
The nose is floral, with honeysuckle and apricot. The palate and finish are soft and complex, with black pepper and oak spice, citrus and tannins.
