This is a 10 year old Clynelish from the 2023 Special Releases, a collection of cask-strength single malts themed 'Spirited Xchange' and curated by Master Blender Dr Stuart Morrison. It is bottled at 57.5% in a 75cl bottle.
It matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak casks and was bottled uncut at natural cask strength. Clynelish was built in 1962, and its Lomond wash still gives natural wax esters and a honeyed, waxy texture.
Reviewers have described honeyed cereals, vanilla and candle wax on the nose, with oranges, bananas and charred pineapple. The palate is oily, with sweet oranges, honeycomb and tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit.
