A Highland single malt from Clynelish, bottled at eight years old as Batch 2 by Thompson Bros of Dornoch. It was matured in refill hogsheads and bottled at 48% ABV, in natural colour and without chill filtration.
The refill casks keep the waxy texture and bright citrus character of the spirit at the front. The nose brings lemon zest, grapefruit peel and lime juice, with marzipan biscuits, caramelised barley, ripe pineapple and Galia melon.
On the palate come citrus, pineapple juice, a light coastal note and green olive, with lemon meringue pie, beeswax and honey. The finish is long, buttery and creamy, with citrus oils and soft honey.
