This is an 8 year old Clynelish bottled by Thompson Bros in its Sutherland series. The whisky comes from refill hogsheads and was bottled at 48% ABV, with 2187 bottles filled.
On the nose there is lemon zest and grapefruit peel, then marzipan biscuit and caramelised barley over a waxy Highland coastal note. The palate adds green olive and pineapple juice, followed by lemon meringue and crème anglaise, ending on beeswax and honey. The finish is long, buttery and creamy, with citrus oil and toasted barley.
