This is a 26 year old Highland single malt from Clynelish, filled in 1996 and bottled in 2022 at a natural cask strength of 52%. It is the fourth release in Diageo's Prima & Ultima series, selected by master blender Dr Emma Walker, and was bottled in a run of 889 bottles of 70cl. The whisky matured in two experimental European oak butts, one seasoned with Oloroso sherry and the other with Pedro Ximénez. The nose is mellow and drying, with a faint medicinal, mossy note, a hint of grapefruit, toffee and a little fragrant smoke. The palate is oily and lightly waxy, sweet and apple-like before turning to chilli-pepper spice. The finish is long and peppery, with Szechuan pepper warmth.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
