Colonel E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof Batch 14 is a Kentucky straight bourbon made at Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is bottled in bond at 63.6% ABV (127.2 proof), without dilution or chill filtration, in a 750ml bottle supplied in a collector's tube.
The mashbill is Buffalo Trace Mashbill #1, a low-rye recipe. The release is made in homage to E.H. Taylor, who built the rickhouses where it is aged.
The nose is described as caramel, toasted oak, dark fruit and a hint of spice. The palate is full and intense, with vanilla, toffee, charred oak, cinnamon and pipe tobacco. The finish is long and warming, with smoky depth and sweet baking spices.
