Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof is a bourbon bottled straight from hand-selected barrels at more than 125 proof, uncut and unfiltered. The range is named after Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who owned the Buffalo Trace Distillery before Prohibition. The barrels are drawn from warehouses built over a century ago under his watch. The nose offers cooked berries, rich caramel and a slightly floral note. The palate is bold and spicy, with toasty vanilla, dried oak and pepper, and the long finish shows a strong rye character with lingering fruit.
