This is Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof, a straight Kentucky bourbon bottled uncut and unfiltered at 134.5 proof (67.25%) in a 750ml bottle. It is made from hand-selected barrels and bottled directly from the barrel. The bourbon is named after Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who owned Buffalo Trace Distillery in the days before Prohibition. The barrels are drawn from warehouses built over a century ago under his supervision. The nose offers cooked berries, caramel and a slightly floral note. The palate is bold and spicy, with toasty vanilla, dried oak and pepper, followed by a long finish with a strong rye character and lingering fruit.
