Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled in bond at 100 proof (50%) in a 750ml bottle. Each batch is blended from a small number of selected barrels.
It is named after Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who bought the Frankfort distillery he called O.F.C. in 1869 and was a leading voice behind the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897.
The nose offers caramel corn, butterscotch and vanilla, with light citrus and baking spice. The palate has toffee sweetness with cinnamon, black pepper and toasted oak in a rich, rounded body. The finish is medium to long, with warming spice, sweet tobacco and a touch of licorice.
