Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye is a bottled-in-bond Kentucky rye, bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle and distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. It has no age statement, and the bonding means at least four years in new charred American oak. The mash bill is rye and malted barley only, with no corn, which is unusual for a Kentucky rye. The bottle honours Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who championed the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. The launch notes describe dried fruit, black pepper and fresh dill on the nose, dark spices and caramel on the palate, and a dry, oaky finish.
