Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch is a Bottled-in-Bond bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery, named after Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who was closely involved in the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. It is made from a rye-forward mash bill, with each batch assembled from selected barrels.
The whiskey is distilled in a single season, aged for at least four years in brick warehouses and bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof).
The nose is caramel, vanilla and honeyed corn with cinnamon, clove and toasted oak. The palate is rich, with butterscotch, sweet corn, rye spice and red apple. The finish is long and dry, with soft vanilla and pepper.
