Colterenzio Gewurztraminer 2023 Alto Adige DOC (14%)

This is a 2023 Gewurztraminer from Colterenzio, made under the Alto Adige DOC and bottled at 14% ABV. The grapes come from a vineyard in Girlan, in the commune of Eppan, at 450 metres above sea level, on gravel soil with clay and limestone deposits. The vines are trained on the Guyot system. Fermentation is temperature-controlled at 18°C in stainless steel tanks to preserve varietal character, and the wine rests on its lees until shortly before bottling. Golden yellow in colour, it is spicy in aroma and flavour, recalling yellow roses, cloves, lychees and nutmeg. The palate is luscious and powerful, ending in an elegant, dry, aromatic finish.
