Compass Box Artist's Blend is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered, and was made as a tribute to Edinburgh.
The recipe is published in full: about 55% single malt (Linkwood, Clynelish, Balmenach and a Highland malt blend) and 45% Cameronbridge single grain. The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, with a Palo Cortado sherry-seasoned component.
Apple, salted caramel and baking spices lead, with a creamy mouthfeel. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, toffee and pastry cream, while the Palo Cortado adds red apple, sultana and banana. The finish is long.
