Compass Box Experimental Grain Scotch Whisky (75cl, 46%)

Experimental Grain is a limited-edition blended grain Scotch whisky from Compass Box, in a 750ml bottle at 46% ABV. It was bottled in December 2021 at natural colour and without chill-filtration, in an outturn of 6,142 bottles. At its core, making up 31% of the blend, is Loch Lomond grain whisky made from 100% peated malted barley in a copper Coffey column still. It is combined with Hedonism blended grain, North British grain and Cameronbridge grain, matured in second-fill bourbon barrels and recharred American oak. The nose offers banana and toffee with soft, savoury barbecue smoke and hints of rum and raspberry. The palate is soft and oily, with almond and vanilla, before a note of burnt pine cones develops.
